My kids have been all over Youtube this summer. I try to mix it up, make sure they are getting in summer reading, going to the gym, doing all their camps and soccer training, but I totally get that it’s summer and they want to relax and just unwind.
One thing we came across was a DIY Charcoal Mask. We love face masks and with my 9 year old having oily skin she is prone to black heads, so we love doing face masks together. We’ve seen the charcoal masks on revealing a forest of black heads left on the mask, so we were excited to see such an easy DIY to the solution!
So what’s needed?
- Elmers Non Toxic School Glue
- Activated Charcoal Tablets
- Peppermint Essential Oils
That’s it!
After searching up and down the aisles of our grocery store, we found the charcoal tablets in the gas/antacid section. We mixed about 5-6 tablespoons of glue with 3-4 charcoal tablets for all three of us. We then added the peppermint oil to make it tingle more and smell great. Plus make it feel more like a treatment then just glue on our face.
We made sure to wash our face with warm water to open up our pores first.
After mixing it, we applied the mask to our face using a brush to keep it event. Even Addy wanted in, but just her nose and cheeks.
We let it dry for about 20-30 minutes.
Once it was dry, you just peel it from the bottom. It didn’t hurt too bad, mainly just where we had the most facial hair as it took the little peach fuzz away as well.
Afterwards we all had so much fun look at the little black heads stuck to the mask. I spared you the picture, but I loved how we were able to keep the mask intact by just peeling it off evenly!
My face felt so smooth afterwards and I love how those 3 ingredients can last us through a dozen or more face treatments!
Will you try this DIY Charcoal Mask? I’d love to see what you think of it!
